Just caked with dirt, like what a ShopVac filter after working with Sheetrock. You just don’t toss it and get a new one like a paper filter.” When we stopped, he pulled it out and it was the dirtiest automotive air filter I’d ever seen. So I asked when was the last time he’d replaced the filter and he replied “When I put the K&N on it when I got it (maybe 2 years before).” I asked when he’d cleaned it last and he says, in a kinda condescending tone, “Uh, it’s a K&N, dude.” I told him “You still have to clean it. He assured me it was fine, “It always sounds like that,” but when he gunned it, it didn’t pick up like you’d expect. As soon as he started the truck, I could tell the engine wasn’t running right and told him. One day, I don’t remember why, but he had to give me a ride. Essentially a stock truck with a few minor upgrades under the hood, flame decals on the sides, and exhaust. He had, what he thought was, a built truck. The guy who’d say the Z06 was better than a C7, but couldn’t tell you the differences between the two, other than one cost more than the other. I knew a guy in high school who was a self-proclaimed “car guy,” but didn’t even know shit about the basics. r/Spotted (full vehicles only, no random junkers or car parts)
